Instead of paying any attention to Wizard Nigel, Wizard Jallel cut a piece of steak with his knife and fork. Then, as he put a piece into his mouth, everyone realized what was happening.
So that was why there were so many customers here. The food wasnât just great. It also helped the customers gain their promotion qi. Wizard Bunker wasnât sure how that worked, but he didnât hesitate to put a spoonful of the steamed egg into his mouth.
âThisâŠâ Wizard Bunker sighed as he savored the taste, âThis is actually the first time Iâve eaten something like this!â
Wizard Bunker clapped his hands, âGood, good! Thatâs right, Wizard Bunker! This is definitely one of the greatest restaurants- I mean, the greatest restaurant in all of the Holy Continent!â
Wizard Bunker asked in a casual tone, âSo, who owns this place?â
âThe shop owner is an intermediate wizard, but the real boss is a grandmaster blacksmith.â
âHmmm,â Wizard Bunker scratched his chin for a bit, âThatâs a bit troublesome, then. I was hoping that we could âaskâ for the recipes from the manager of this place.â
Wizard Jallel was blunt, âWhat are you talking about, Fifth? Itâs just a grandmaster blacksmith! Why donât we just buy the whole establishment from him? Itâs not like he can make more points than we do!â
âWow, wow, wow! Hold yourself there!â Wizard Nigel called out to stop Wizard Jallel from talking, âGrandmaster Abel isnât someone you can just mess with! Youâre talking about the only human grandmaster blacksmith thatâs on the Holy Continent!â
âGrandmaster Abel?â Wizard Bunker suddenly stared at Wizard Nigel. Then, as he took out his identity card, he started searching for anything that could relate to the name that was just mentioned.
âOh, ha, hahaha! So thatâs what it is! Just look at what the database tells me! So apparently, Grandmaster Abel has had beef with Cliff. Cliffâs the one who put a bounty on him, and Abel became a grandmaster blacksmith when he was still a wanted man.â
âAnd this!â Wizard Bunker said in a louder voice, âWhen Cliff died, Abel immediately returned to his homeland. Thatâs where he was immediately appointed to be an earl and given his lands!â
Wizard Jallel had his arms wide open, âWell, we have our man! We can just skip all the search now. Itâs very simple. Get to Abel. Arrest him. Take all his belongings.â
âAnd you, Wizard Nigel,â Wizard Bunker threw a cold stare at Wizard Nigel, âIf you can get this done for us, youâll become our new representative right away. If you are not willing to work with us, Iâm afraid to say this, but youâll, well, you know the drill.â
Cold sweat started dripping from Wizard Nigelâs cheek, âYes, yes. The drill. Of course! Um, well, Wizard Bunker, itâs not like I donât want to do it, but Wizard Abel is still at the Kingdom of St. Ellis. Since Iâm the guardian of Liante City, I donât think Iâll have, um, the time, well, uhâŠâ
âSo you donât want to help the Blizzard, then?â Wizard Bunker said coldly.
Wizard Nigel said helplessly, âWhat I can do for you two, sir, is that I can provide any information on Abel when he is still at the Kingdom of St. Ellis. There arenât enough devices in Liante City that I can use for this, but I do have some connections that I have.â
âThatâs, well, thatâs everything I can do for you two⊠So, um, uhâŠâ
Despite nodding in agreeance, Wizard Bunker was still talking in the same tense manner, âI understand that you have your duties, Nigel. You are a guardian, and you must be in the city for the majority of your time.â
âIâm just saying, I donât think itâd be bad for you if you leave the city for just a day. It is a grandmaster blacksmith that weâre dealing with, so it would be better if there were the three of us going together.â
âAlright, Fifth! Iâve heard enough,â Wizard Jallel started shaking his head, âWhy are you always going through all these extra steps? Just look at me! Here, Iâll show you. If I tell the store manager to give me the recipes, heâll just do it!â
Wizard Bunker stopped Wizard Jallel before he went to the kitchen, âWhat are you doing?! Stop, you idiot! Weâll be recorded if you mess around too much!â
Wizard Jallel didnât bother to listen, âWhatâs the manager going to do, hmm? Tell me. Whatâs he going to do? Iâm just going to ask the chef some questions. Gee, itâd be fine! Would you just relax?â
As soon as Wizard Jallel stepped inside the kitchen, he was faced with the blockage of a small-sized defensive circle. It was like a toy to him. With a simple flick of his finger, he produced an âice boltâ that destroyed it right away.
âSir! Sir! The kitchen is not open to outsiders!â Mahler quickly came to confront him. At the same, Garen and Mitch used their knightâs techniques to serve as bodyguards.
Without even trying to defend himself (verbally), Wizard Jallel released a blue light from his body. He was casting âthe newborn star of frost,â and since he knew that he was under surveillance, he deliberately made sure that its effect wasnât too strong to be detected.
Still, it was more than what ordinary people could take. In an instance, Mahler, Mitcher, and Garen were hit away from Wizard Jallel. Ice qi started to cover their entire bodies. They were still alive, but without immediate treatment, they would be dead soon enough.
A strong light started flashing out of Wizard Nigelâs identity card, âWarning: mana has been detected in the Forgotten Land restaurant building. The strength of the wave is intermediate. If you are a law enforcement wizard, please head over there to investigate.â
âDeal with this, Wizard Nigel,â Wizard Bunker threw a cold stare at Wizard Nigel.
âIâŠ. I-â Wizard Nigel stuttered. Wizard Bunker was asking him to pretend that none of this ever happened. Obviously, he was not willing to do this. For starters, his name would be on the record if he was to cancel the alarm siren. Once that happened, there would be nothing that he could do to erase that.
Wizard Nigel took out his identity card, âThis is Nigel, the guardian wizard. Iâll now cancel the alarm siren.â
âWizard Nigel, are you certain that you want to cancel this siren?â
âYes, just shut up and cancel it!â Wizard Nigel said frustratingly. From this point on, there was no turning back for him.
The identity card continued to speak to him, âUnderstood. The alarm siren at the Forgotten Land restaurant building has been turned off. All legal responsibilities for this decision will be for Nigel, the law enforcement wizard, to bear on his own.â
Meanwhile, Fink was just walking out of the kitchen. He just saw Mitch, Mahler, and Garen being knocked away by one of the customers.
Wizard Jallel started screaming at him, âYou, boy! Give me the recipes, and Iâll spare your life!â
Because of how frightening Wizard Jallel appeared, Fink and Barney were kneeling on the floor immediately. They were just ordinary people, and they had never been bullied like this before.
Still, they had their own obligations. They remembered what the manager told them. If they earned enough money, they would be able to afford for their future generationâs education.
