Chapter 13 - The Nostalgic Way Home




“Give me a break…”
I’m feeling a little nervous about school tomorrow. No, I guess I’m off tomorrow. Thank God. Still, I think I’ve just been carrying the damage in my feelings for far too long, as I felt nervous.
“Ahaha. Kouki-nii, how are you?”
“You know, it’s all your fault!”
“Wa-!”
I rubbed Manami’s hair as she grinned happily.
After Manami had pulled her antics, I quickly left the school to avoid anything excessive, finally coming out to a place where I could relax.
“Manami. This kind of thing has got to stop.”
“Eh…”
Aisa, who was also going home with us, warned me.
“You’re in trouble too, Kouki.”
“Trouble? Kouki-nii?”
It’s hard for me to make a comment on this because they’re teaming up on me…
When I kept quiet, Manami grinned and attached herself to me, which made Aisa’s gaze twist sharply.
Both sides are mistaken for the good and the bad.
“Kouki-nii is kind, so it’s okay, right?”
“Yes… I hope you and Manami have fun back home.”
“Hey.”
As I was wondering what to do about Aisa’s moody mood, Manami, who was attached to me, jumped out and went to hug Aisa.
“O.Nee.Chan.!”
“Kyaa!”
An adorable shriek.
“Hyaa!”
Then another cute scream came out again, due to Manami whispering something in Aisa’s ear as Manami stuck to her. I can’t hear what Manami’s saying at all, but I can see that Aisa’s expression is gradually softening, so it seems that she’s following along somehow.
I just don’t want to hear “Mmm” or “Hya… you’re too close” every time Manami whispers something. It gives me a strange feeling.
They whispered something to each other for a short while, and then Aisa lined up next to me with a sigh.
“Haha… can’t help it…”
“Heh. I love Onee-chan and Kouki-nii! I wanted to go home with both of you!”
“Yes, yes…”
Aisa laughs and pats her head as if she had no choice. She’s really cute when she’s not glaring at me…
“What?”
And then, when she realized that I was watching her, she reverted back to her usual expression.
“Kouki-nii was fawning over Onee-chan.”
“Huh?”
It was Aisa’s face that turned red at Manami’s words rather than mine. When Manami is around, we are constantly being pushed around by her.
“Right? Kouki-nii!”
“Ah…”
I realized just a moment ago that things will take a bad turn if I don’t reply.
Moreover, Aisa’s anxious glances at me were so cute that I couldn’t help but nod my head.
“Heh heh. That’s right! Onee-chan is so cute!”
Manami, with the blushing Aisa and I, walked home in a good mood, with no one really saying anything afterwards.
It had been a long time since the three of us had walked together like this, and even though it was the usual path I took back home, I felt nostalgic.
