Chapter 2 - Tutoring My Childhood Friend's Little Sister
āThe first! Ko-niiās study session~! Yay!ā
āYouāre the one who has to learn, you know?ā
Do you understand that?
The high-spirited creature in front of me is none other than Manami Takanishi, Aisaās sister.
Iāve been treating Manami like my own sister and sheās been treating me like her brother. At least thatās what I think.
In fact, I think we have had more skinship than regular siblings doā¦.. It was just proven that her habit had not been broken even at her current age.
āItās been way too long! Really! You see onee-chan at school, but Iāve been lonely, you know?ā
Looking up at me with glistening eyes, I can tell that Manami really is beautiful. As expected of Aisaās sister.
Iām glad that Iāve gotten used to her and donāt look at her that way anymore, but Iām starting to feel like Iāll be in danger if she keeps growing like this. Though, if you just think about Aisaās demonic expression, you would never think of touching her.
āEven though Iāve come all this way to get into school with you, I canāt see you or onee-chan at all, plus I canāt keep up with my studiesā¦ā¦ā
I stroked Manamiās head as she was nodding off.
āWell, in the first place, it was a miracle that I got in.ā
She had a good-looking face just like her sister, but her studies were far worse than Aisaās.
That being said, sheās better at sports than Aisa, and has the athleticism to go toe-to-toe with me, an older boy.
Due to this, when we played outside, I inevitably spent more time with Manami than with Aisa, and thatās probably why Manami began to miss me.
My studies were better than average, but I decided on a school where all of us could go.
āWell, since Ko-nii is here, itāll be okay!
āDonāt you ever try to learn from your sister?ā
āHey, onee-chan is very strict with our familyā¦..ā
Manami gives me a distant look. Well, I can sort of understand. I guess itās pretty tough in her familyā¦..
āMore importantly, Kouki-nii! Are you getting along with onee-chan properly?ā
āGetting along with Aisaā¦..?ā
āYeah! Even though weāre in the same school, you never talk to me or onee-chan!
Ahā¦..I guess in Manamiās mind, weāll always be close childhood friends.
āWe havenāt talked much at all lately.ā
āUgh, no! Thatās why onee-chan is always in such a bad mood!ā
I think thatās because of a different reasonā¦.. Iāve seen her complain a bit in class about weird boys approaching her.
If I were to try and talk to Aisa, the whole class would probably be talking about that ignorant idiot who misunderstood and called out to her.
āAnyway! Kouki-nii is supposed to take care of onee-chan! You even promised to marry her!ā
āThat brings back memoriesā¦ā¦
As was often the case with childhood friends, we promised that too. Well, considering the current situation, only Manami would be conscious of such things.
āWell, letās get to studying.ā
If she digs any deeper, she may be shocked by the truth.
Thatās why, though Iām sure it will come out eventually, I will put it off for now.
āMou. Youāre not taking this seriously, are you? Anyway! You need to give onee-chan more attention!ā
āOkay, okay, I will. If you study hard.ā
āAh! I told you, didnāt I? I can do it if I try!ā
āI know you can.ā
I wonder how hard she had worked to catch up with Aisa and I.
āMhm. Thatās good then.ā
āWhy are you being so pushy?ā
āTee-hee!ā
I gave her a light push and she smiled happily. Manamiās always been like this.
āLetās do this. Math first, right?ā
āTake care of me well, okay?ā
Since this is considered a part-time job, Iām getting paid for it, so letās get more enthusiastic.
I seriously hope that this hardworking girl will be rewarded for her efforts.
