I followed Aisaâs lead and arrived at a place that was, well, a little difficult to enter.
âThen Iâll wait for you outsideâŠâ
I tried to escape, but she grabbed my arm, leaving me with no way to escape.
âYou have to stay with me for the entire day, thatâs the promise.â
Aisaâs face was bright red as she turned her head away and said without making eye contact with me. Iâm embarrassed just to be here right now, and Aisa was probably too.
âBecause I want⊠Kouki to choose my swimsuit.â
Our last stop, of all places, was the swimwear section.
Why, againâŠ? I think Manami told me why. I just rememberedâŠ
âIâll do my bestâŠâ
It was kind of nice to step into the swimsuit corner, but it was very awkward because we were talking less and less.
Still, perhaps worried about me running away, Aisa held onto the hem of my shirt.
âUm⊠I wonât run awayâŠâ
Aisa answers, but still doesnât let go. Well, since I canât do much about it, letâs give up.
âWell, thatâs no good. Iâll take a look around to help you choose one.â
When I said that, her face, which had been slumped down until then, shot up.
âO-Of course! Just a few candidatesâŠâ
Aisa then starts rummaging through the swimwear section. She says in a small voice, âThis⊠will give away my sizeâŠâ Oh, come on.
I also looked around for something to do, but suddenly, a swimsuit caught my eye.
I found a beautiful swimsuit in the same light blue color as todayâs outfit, with a light cherry blossom pattern, which seemed rare for summer wear.
Aisa followed my gaze and picked up a swimsuit.
âI found my sizeâŠ! Iâll try it on!â
Aisa immediately calls out to the sales clerk and enters the fitting room.
While I was waiting, the clerk said to me, âYou have a lovely girlfriend!â which was quite awkward. When I looked down silently, thinking that denying it would get me in trouble, the clerk smiled cheerily and went away.
Soon, after what seemed like an infinite amount of time, I noticed that Aisa was coming out. The mission that Manami had given me was to compliment Aisa here.
I was completely ready, but when Aisa came out, she was in her original clothes.
Iâd be lying if I said I wasnât expecting a swimsuit. It was a complete letdown. Something about that⊠just makes me feel a sense of loss, something like regret.
âFufu⊠Donât be so disappointed, Iâll buy it.â
âNo, Iâm not, butâŠâ
I hurried to deny it, but it was meaningless in front of the softly grinning Aisa.
âBut are you sure thatâs what you want?â
It was just something that caught my eye and I wasnât that specific about my decision.
âKouki chose this, so itâs fine.â
I was thrilled to see Aisa, who scrunched up her swimsuit around her chest and said in a downcast manner.
Thatâs barely a valid reason, though.
âShame you couldnât see it, huh?â
The way she smiled happily made me think about the fact that Manami and Aisa really were sisters.
And then she made a further attack.
âWhat could you do for me if you want to see it?â
Aisa, now a little devil, whispered in my ear so that only I could hear, and then headed straight towards the cash register.
I waited for Aisa, desperately trying to remember Manamiâs advice on what to say.
