Chapter 230 : V6 Prologue â The Demon King and his younger sister
It was someoneâs dreamââ
During a night bathed in moonlight.
As the dragonâs roar reverberated through the air, a little girl was desperately running through the forest.
She was a demon. Perhaps six or seven years old. For someone her age, she possessed considerable magic power, but it was not enough to face the dragon.
She wept as she slipped through the trees. The dragon, baring its ferocious fangs, was pursuing her, knocking down everything in its path.
âN⊠NoâŠ!â (Little girl)
Her shoes came off as she ran, and her arms and legs were bleeding in places.
She kept running frantically, but then, she tripped over a large tree root and fell to the ground.
âUgh⊠AhâŠâ (Little girl)
Enduring the pain, she struggled to get up.
When she turned toward the fierce growling, she saw the dragonâs head.
âAhâŠâ
Her legs gave out, and she fell on her backside, inching backward.
The dragonâs eyes stayed fixed on its prey, never leaving her.
âHelp meâŠâ
The dragon opened its jaws wide.
âGROOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAARRRâŠ!!â (Dragon)
âSave me⊠Big BrotherâŠ!â (Little girl)
With a deafening roar, the dragonâs fangs closed in on the girl.
Its jaws snapped shut with a crunch, but she hadnât been devoured.
âHmm. I heard this forest was supposed to repel dragons.â (???)
The one who appeared on the scene was a ten-year-old demon boy.
He held the dragonâs long fangs with one hand and stomped on its lower jaw with his foot.
Black hair and black eyes.
To those who could witness him, it was evident that he possessed extraordinary magic power.
His name was Anos Voldigoad.
This was before he came to be known as the Demon King of Tyranny.
â<Black Burning Flame Griad>.â (Anos)
The dragon let out a great scream as scorching black flames were thrust into its throat.
However, unable to do anything about the flames inside its body, it had its insides burned and collapsed to the ground.
âThat should do it.â (Anos)
Anos bound the half-dead dragon tightly with <Magic Restriction Chain Gijel> and then sealed it within his storage magic.
He turned to look at the girl.
She sighed in relief, then tears welled up in her eyes even more than before, and she began to sob.
âDonât cry. Your big brother just exterminated that big bully of a dragon.â (Anos)
Anos put his hand on his sisterâs head and smiled gently.
âYou have nothing to worry about anymore.â (Anos)
The girl clung to Anos and began to cry even louder.
ââŠI was so scared! Big BrotherâŠ!â (Little girl)
Anos patted the girlâs back gently.
Seeing that his sister would not stop crying, he drew a magic circle in the palm of his hand.
âLook at this.â (Anos)
When Anos opened his hand, a red shining jewel appeared there.
âWowâŠâ (Little girl)
The girlâs eyes sparkled as she stared intently at the jewel.
âThis morning, I learned to cast the <Creative Construction Ibis> spell. This is for you.â (Anos)
âI can have it?â (Little girl)
âYeah.â (Anos)
With a smile like a blooming flower, the girl laughed.
âThank you, Big Brother!â (Little girl)
âYouâre easily pleased with just a jewel.â (Anos)
âItâs not about money for me! Iâm a demon. Iâm your little sister.â (Little girl)
Anos responded to his sisterâs retort with a smile and held her up like a princess.
The light of his recovery magic healed the girlâs wounds.
Floating upwards with <Flight Fress>, Anos flew toward the depths of the forest.
âIt seems that this place has also been sniffed out by the dragons. Tomorrow, at dawn, weâll have to move again.â (Anos)
âHey, Big Brother. I know a good place.â the girl said while in Anosâ arms.
âOh? Where is that?â (Anos)
âDo you know about towns? Lots of people live in towns. They have magic barriers, so theyâre safe even if a dragon comes.â the girl said with a smile.
âSo if we go to a town, we wonât have to run anymore.â (Little girl)
âWhere did you hear about that?â (Anos)
âWell, I found it in a book I picked up. So there must be people living nearby, and there must be a town somewhere.â (Little girl)
Anos closed his mouth for a moment before answering.
âUnfortunately, we canât go to a town.â (Anos)
âWhy? Donât you know about towns either, Big Brother?â (Little girl)
âIâve taught you that dragons chase their prey, right?â (Anos)
The girl nodded.
âThatâs the truth, but normally, dragons wouldnât chase their prey to a land without dragons. Especially since the soil in this forest is filled with magic power that they avoid. Itâs me that attracts the dragons.â (Anos)
ââŠDo the dragons only chase after you, Big Brother?â (Little girl)
âYes. Thatâs why we canât go to a town. I would get the demons living there involved in my trouble. Also, if they knew that dragons were after me, we wouldnât be welcome among them.â (Anos)
Anos explained so, but in reality, it was his sister who was being targeted by the dragons.
He didnât want to burden his young sister with the responsibility for their constant fleeing.
âIâm sorry that weâve had to move from place to place because of me. I could have left you in a town, but even so, I wanted to be with you.â (Anos)
The girl brightened up immediately.
âItâs okay! Because I love you, Big Brother. Iâd rather be with you than stay in a town alone!â (Little girl)
Saying that, she clung tightly to Anos.
âFufu!â (Little girl)
âWhat is it?â (Anos)
âYou know⊠I always thought I was useless. That I was just a burden to you, having to be protected all the time, and that I couldnât do anything.â (Little girl)
The girl said happily.
âBut you need me, right, Big Brother?â (Little girl)
âYes. Because youâre my only family.â (Anos)
